Today at a glance

On my own:

What's on my mind

It's been a long time since I wrote.

When I started this blog, I was really searching for a way to record and document my progress. I wanted to be able to look back over my effort and take a look at what I was able to learn each day.

Obviously, this never really became that. I think writing a daily reflection was simply too much to ask on top of the work itself. This was also difficult since I was (and still am) doing near-daily journaling. Reflecting twice a day takes a lot of energy.

Since then, though, I've been able to utilize my calendar as a way to track my progress. Each "work block" that I do, I'll put down as a calendar event, with the start and end times. I'll also note what I did in the event notes, whether it's learning from a source or doing practice.

So this calendar progress-tracking really became what this blog was supposed to be. And I suppose I might go back and fill in the blanks later, if I ever get around to it. But for now, I've been able to get the same value out of my current calendar system, which is nice β€” even though I didn't maintain this blog, I've been able to get similar benefits.
